1.) Watch the following clip:

Describe what is a person’s ‘conscience’.

Conscience is a described as the ability or sense that distinguishes whether our actions are right or wrong. It leads to feelings of regret when we do things that go against our moral values, and to feelings of goodness or honesty when our actions obey the rules to our moral values. It is also the attitude which informs our moral judgment before performing any action.

2.) Watch the following clip:

Describe how a persons conscience works in making moral decisions. Explain the relationship between religion and conscience.

There are two parts of the conscience, a lower and higher conscience. The lower conscience contains an innate sense of right and wrong, which all humanity shares. The higher conscience is subject to training and receives the specific standards of right and wrong formed by beliefs and values.

The relationship between religion and conscience is that with the conscience i helps you make right or wrong choices which will also be made as a sin or good deed which is the part of religion and the laws of God.

1.) Watch the following clip:

Scenario 1: You are on a train coming home from a day at the beach. The train stops at a station and a group a youths get on the train and start bashing an elderly ethnic man. You notice people getting off the train.

Discuss what you would do in this situation.

I would scream for people to help me stop the group from bashing the man. If they didn’t help i would have to do it my self and just put myself over the man to protect him.

Scenario 2: You get a message from a girl that you are interested asking you to come over her house. When you get there a number of her friends are present and they say they are bored. One of them promotes the idea of going for a walk and causing a riot. At first you tell them “No way”. However, the girl you like states that “she will like you more if you go”.

Discuss what you would do in this situation.

I would tell her no and i don’t care if you like me but it’s the wrong thing to do. If they still went and did it i would go tell their parents or police and leave and not talk to them again.

1.) Define the term “Moral Maturity”

Moral Maturity is marked by depth and consistency of moral judgement; by acknowledging that any moral judgement may be imperfect; that moral judgement is difficult, in that moral principles, if they are to be applied to a precise case, it may need to be interpreted. Moral maturity is a requirement in the person who is to apply a body of knowledge or a skill to the solution of a problem, or to the understanding of a situation, if the knowledge is not to remain abstract and the skill potential unrealized.

2.) Read the following article:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/knife-arrest-cop-pelted/2008/03/24/1206206967590.html

Discuss the reasons why the 25 year old man mentioned in the article would be regarded as having a lack of ‘moral maturity’.

Because he went out and damaged someone else’s vehicle and then when he had to face his consequences he ran away.

3.) Identify the differences between ‘morality’ and ‘immorality’.

Morality is usually recognized to things that God considers right and wrong or good and evil.

Immorality is not being in harmony with the values of right or good conduct by God and the laws.

4.) Watch the following clip and describe the reasons why Governor Spitzer’s actions would be regarded as ‘immoral’.

He actions would be regarded as immoral because many people in America looked up to him and he was also a family man of 3 daughters but he went behind everyones back and did the wrong thing and set a bad example to his daughters and all the women in America.

1.) Using the Internet research and find descriptions for the roles of the following newspaper personnel:

- Editor

  • Determines whether a submitted manuscript is appropriate for Marketing Science.

  • Selects expert reviewers (i.e., referees) and an area editor to evaluate the submitted manuscript.

  • Renders a final editorial decision on each manuscript based on the AE recommendation, journal priorities, other similar manuscripts in process and related considerations.

  • Communicates directly with the author and the review team.

  • Schedules accepted manuscripts for publication.

  • Balances workloads for the area editors and reviewers.

  • Resolves any conflicts.

- Reporter

A reporter is a type of journalist who researches and presents information in certain types of mass media.

Reporters gather their information in a variety of ways, including tips, press releases, and witnessing events. They perform research through interviews, public records, and other sources. The information-gathering part of the job is sometimes called “reporting” as distinct from the production part of the job, such as writing articles. Reporters generally split their time between working in a newsroom and going out to witness events or interview people.

Most reporters working for major news media outlets are assigned an area to focus on, called a beat or patch. They are encouraged to cultivate sources to improve their information gathering.
- Journalist

A journalist (also called a newspaperman) is a person who practises journalism, the gathering and dissemination of information about current events, trends, issues and people.

Reporters are one type of journalist. They create reports as a profession for broadcast or publication in mass media such as newspapers, television, radio, magazines, documentary film, and the Internet. Reporters find sources for their work, their reports can be either spoken or written, and they are often expected to report in the most objective and unbiased way to serve the public good. A Columnist writes pieces which appear regularly in newspapers or magazines.

Depending on the context, the term journalist also includes various types of editors and visual journalists, such as photographers, graphic artists, and page designers.
- Designer

A designer is a person who designs something. Perhaps the broadest definition is that provided by Herbert Simon: ‘Everyone designs who devises courses of action aimed at changing existing situations into preferred ones.’

As well as amateur designers, there are many professional designer occupations (see list of Examples). To become a professional designer usually requires study to degree level and certain work experience or training. Entry to some design professions is strictly controlled or limited by legal requirements, but use of the title ‘designer’ is generally un-regulated.

Working as a designer usually implies being creative in a particular area of expertise. Designers are usually responsible for making drawings or models for something new that will be made by someone else. Their work takes into consideration not only how something will look, but also how it will be used and how it will be made.

I will be a living presence of God by doing random acts of kindness.

I can do this by saying hello to some one don’t know
Making friends with people who don’t have friends.
Help someone doing their work that need help.
Help someone in the playground.
Play with someone who is alone.

  UN police retake Kosovo’s court

Some 100 police took part in the raid in the Serb-held part of the city of Mitrovica, arresting dozens of Serbs.

Reports say police later used tear gas at Serbs who gathered outside the building after the dawn operation.

Kosovo Serbs and Serbia have refused to recognise Kosovo’s declaration of independence last month.

Many of the protesters who seized the Mitrovica court last week are said to be former staff who lost their jobs in 1999 at the end of the war in Kosovo, when it came under UN administration.

Serbs had staged rallies outside the building for several weeks, preventing ethnic Albanian court employees from crossing the bridge over the Ibar River that divides Mitrovica into a Serb-run north and an ethnic Albanian south.

Tension in the region has risen sharply since Kosovo declared independence on 17 February.

Last week, Serbs tried to take control over a railway line in the northern Kosovo.

In February, some 150 Kosovo Serb police officers were suspended for refusing to take orders from the ethnic Albanian authorities in Kosovo’s capital, Pristina.
